We met with Marc and Louise on a number of occassions at the chosen venue to discuss options. The venue was a farmers field with amazing views accross the rolling hills of Northamptonshire. Marc and Louise had a solid vision for the how they wanted their wedding reception to look. As this was a bare field, the full infastructure would be required. Firstly they wanted an L-shaped marquee with a main room for the wedding breakfast and and area for dancing in the evening. In addition to this they required a seperate area for the bar and relaxed seating. As the ceremony was also to be performed outside, we would need to cater for this too.
On day one of the build, the main focus was to build the main sructures and lay the flooring. The main marquee was built with the main reveal facing the view accross the fields, we lined this with window walls to utilise the views even when in the marquee. To this we attached a smaller structure to give the L-shape and define the bar area as a seperate space. The ceremony was to be outside infront of a large oak, so we added a small Capri marquee to give cover from the sun, or showers should it be needed. We completed the day by laying an 18mm ply boarded floor, which is a great base for grassy fields as it can really help with some of the undulations in the ground.
Firstly on the second day we ran all of the cabling for any areas that required power, then came the brand new cream carpet throughout. After this was the ivory pleated linings, running through from the seated area to the bar, creating a seamless flow from one room to another. Where the dancing was to take place, we used black out walls and a starlight ceiling above the dance floor. Next we installed the black and white dance floor, 5 ft round tables, chiavari chairs and all of the bar units and bar equipment ready for a service. Lighing went in after this.
Outside was our next focus. The window walls of the marquee were able to open all, the way along. With these open, we used picnic benches and parasols to create some casual seating just out side of the marquee, with the added Capri to one side. Throughout these areas we ran festoon lighting to sreate the feeling of one large defined space that flowed between areas, they also gave plenty of light outside during the evenings entertainment.
Further down where the ceremony was to take place, we created an isle out of cream carpet, with chiavari chairs either side finishing toward the large oak tree. We lined this with fairy lights.
The day before the wedding, the generator and toilets were istalled to finish off what was a really great build.
A letter from Marc and Louise.
"We can't thank you enough for making our day so perfect. Dealing with you made the whole process so easy and calm.
The set up was amazing and the way everything was put together could not have been better. Thank you."
